Business Development Manager - Japan
On behalf of a major renewable energy developer, WRS are looking for a Business Development Manager to work in Japan on a contract basis. This will be a 2 year contract with potnetial for extension, based in Tokyo, paying a monthly salary plus benefits.
This position will lead from strategy creation to on-site execution, especially for building new power source pipelines for Corporate PPA and VPP towards carbon neutrality.

This position will lead from strategy creation to on-site execution, especially for building new power source pipelines for Corporate PPA and VPP towards carbon neutrality.
Job Duties:
- Formulating sourcing strategies for new solar and wind power development projects
- Sourcing for the same projects (gathering information on suitable locations nationwide, initial planning)
- Leading early-stage development (origination) (obtaining permits from government agencies, forming local consensus)
- Building partnerships for power source expansion and managing development partners
- Experience in renewable energy power source development at a team leader level
- Practical experience in early-stage development (origination)
- Fluency in Japanese & English
- Over 5 years of work experience in the renewable energy industry
- Experience in collaborating with external stakeholders (developers, financial institutions, EPC contractors, local governments, etc.)
- Experience in land acquisition and development for renewable energy-related businesses
- Work experience in power generation companies, general trading companies, real estate companies, or renewable energy EPC
