Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team in Fort Lauderdale. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial construction estimating, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive project estimates, managing subcontractor bids, and supporting the project team throughout the pre-construction phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bid Preparation: Develop accurate and detailed estimates for various commercial construction projects.
  • Drawing and Specification Review: Analyze project drawings and specifications to determine scope and requirements.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and review subcontractor bids, ensuring they meet project specifications and budget requirements.
  • Quantity Take-offs: Perform quantity take-offs and prepare material and labor cost estimates.
  • Value Engineering: Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
  • Project Scheduling: Contribute to the development of project schedules, ensuring alignment with estimated timelines.
  • Client and Vendor Communication: Maintain clear communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors throughout the bidding process.
  • Project Handover: Work closely with the project management team to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects, including renovations, tenant improvements, and ground-up construction.
  • Strong proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Experience with estimating software and tools, such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
