Base Manager - Mozambique

On behalf of a major EPC client, WRS are looking for a Base Manager to work in Mozambique on a contract, rotational basis. This will be a renewable contract, rotating 6/3 into country, paying a day rate in Euros. 

Preparatory Phase 
  • Based in Paris, review the project work scope, schedules, and resource needs to support offshore operations.
  • Plan and coordinate requirements for the local team, craneage, and base setup.
  • Develop an improvement plan for the local base and Pemba quay side.
  • Prepare a recruitment strategy for essential personnel, including yard managers, riggers, and support staff.
Operational Phase 
  • Support offshore operations in Pemba, Mozambique, on a 6-week/3-week rotation basis under the supervision of the Operations Manager.
  • Manage vessel mobilizations and demobilizations in-country.
  • Oversee activities at the quayside, storage yards, and onboard vessels during mobilizations and equipment handling.
  • Liaise with local subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with established procedures.
  • Coordinate daily with the Operations Manager and Logistics Manager for cargo preparation, dispatch offshore, and receipt in port.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment at the port and storage yards.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in base or operational management, ideally within the offshore or logistics sectors.
  • Previous experience in Africa (Mozambique experience ideal)
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and standards in operational environments.
