Summary:

The role of a Labor Market Specialist involves multifaceted approach to understanding employment trends within Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local labor market dynamics. Formulating labor market data and providing strategic insight and support the Organization’s development initiatives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Design and implement surveys to collect data and analyze comprehensive qualitative and quantitative data in labor market across the cities of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
  • Gather data from various sources, including employers, job seekers, government databases, industry reports, and program beneficiaries, using methods like surveys, focus groups, and interviews to gain a comprehensive understanding of labor market dynamics and program effectiveness.
  • Analyze survey data to identify employment trends, skills demand, market gaps, and labor supply, using statistical tools and software to guide its engagement with the community and attract external organizations, partners, and beneficiaries.
  • Create and foster effective relations with the public and private sector entities in Kurdistan Region to attain relevant information e.g. employment statistics and economic indicators.
  • Research and analyze emerging labor market issues, staying up to date on innovative labor market analysis approaches.
  • Collect data from various sources, such as government reports, surveys and relevant reliable research findings and ascertain the data accuracy for strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on survey results, presenting findings to stakeholders, and providing actionable recommendations for policy development and decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyze labor market trends, employment statistics, and economic indicators that demonstrate current market conditions, including job growth, wage trends, and demand for specific skills.
  • Provide forecasts to inform stakeholders about future labor market dynamics and guide strategic decision-making.

Educational Qualifications:   

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Business, Statistics, or related area. Master’s degree or advanced certification in a relevant is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar industry.
- Detail orientation, ability to work independently, Knowledge of labor market trends and economic indicators, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Fluency in written and spoken Kurdish and English languages.
- Numerical and analytical skills, labor market research or analysis, statistical analysis software.
- Fluent in English & Kurdish.
