We are thrilled to share with you the latest developments in our mission to support the MIK Foundation in Hoima, Uganda.
As you know, we've been fundraising to provide essential care and support to vulnerable children in this community. MIK is more than just a shelter; it's a home.
The little girl pictured was just six months old when Chris Morton-Collings (Global Business Development Manager) and Iain Porter (Business Development Manager East Africa) first visited MIK, the youngest child there at the time. Iain stated that “watching her grow and thrive over the past year has been a truly heartwarming experience. It's a testament to the incredible impact we can make on these young lives”.
Our Impact
In the past year, WRS has provided the children with essential necessities such as food, clothing, medical care, scholastic supplies, and Christmas treats. Thanks to your generous contributions and the fundraising activities arranged, we've been able to make a tangible difference in their lives.
Next Steps
Last week, we had the privilege of delivering essential school supplies to the MIK Foundation. You can see a picture from our visit above. However, one urgent need still remains: mattresses. While the boarding students have theirs, the children at the orphanage are still without.
To ensure every child has a comfortable place to sleep, we will be using your generous donations to purchase new mattresses. Your support means the world to these kids, and the MIK team deeply appreciates our collective efforts. Thank you for your continued generosity!
