The move to H2 Green Steel

Despite working for nearly a decade in traditional energy, I’ve always been passionate about renewables. So I’m thrilled to be working in the field, and contributing to the proliferation of sustainable energy.

At H2 Green Steel, I’ll be working on the world’s first hydrogen project. We’re constructing a large steel plant in northern Sweden that will use green hydrogen and renewables to significantly reduce climate pollution in the material’s production.

Challenges for women

As with any technology or engineering industry, it’s difficult for women to attain roles in leadership, project finance, and governance due to gender discrimination. Limitations also exist because women with families are more likely to decline positions which involve relocation. Thankfully though, I’m seeing a gradual acceptance.
