On behalf of a major operator, WRS are looking for a Pre-commissioning/Commissioning Engineer to work in Uganda on a contract, rotational basis. This will be an 18 month renewable contract, rotating 28/28 into country, paying a day rate in USD.

On behalf of a major operator, WRS are looking for a Pre-commissioning/Commissioning Engineer to work in Uganda on a contract, rotational basis. This will be an 18 month renewable contract, rotating 28/28 into country, paying a day rate in USD.

Job Duties:
- Review Contractor and sub-contractors field engineering and site documents, according to the project’s requirements and schedule. and follow up incorporation of Company comments by the contractor.
- Ensure all engineering holds related to the disciplines are fixed prior to installation or register / maintain in a master file.
- Ensure that requests for changes and change notices are properly logged / maintained in a master file, implemented, and compiled by contractors.
- Review construction execution plans and participate to constructability meetings. Supervise and promote pipe spooling activities.
- Ensure that Approved AFC documents are used by construction teams;
- Ensure 3D models and layout drawings are strictly followed by construction
- Participate in technical reviews during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
- Supervise line walk preparation activities (supporting arrangement, special supports installation, material and rating flange management, valves, temporary strainers and SP item installation, tagging, spectacle blinds and spading location and direction, hydrotest and vents installation, temporary supporting or bracing
- Supervise test packs and post- strength testing activities (hydro test, pneumatic test, instrument hook ups and inlines installation, control valves installation, unlocking of springs, painting repairs, removal of blinds and spades, critical equipment connections...)
- Bachelor or Associates degree or HND in Construction Engineering Discipline (e.g., Civils, Mechanical, Process, E&I etc.)
- 15 years or more relevant international project experience in the construction of civil, structural, mechanical, piping and electrical works (with proper technical level of understanding of all disciplines) in Oil and Gas and/or Petrochemical facilities.
- Previous experience in large onshore/offshore oil and gas construction projects.
- Recognized level of expertise in construction discipline and previous experience with other major IOC’s in large oil and gas construction projects.
- Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.
